Nach dem Review im Metal Hammer hat es unser Erstling nun in ein weiteres Print-Magazin geschafft. In der Januar-Ausgabe des Legacy-Magazins findet ihr in der Rubrik „Eigenproduktionen“ (Seiten 143/144) eine Rezension zu unserer EP. Zwar kann Autor Andreas Schulz eher wenig mit unseren Growls im Zusammenhang mit unserer Musik abgewinnen und dennoch kommen wir auch hier wieder durchaus gut weg. So bekommen wir immerhin 9 von 15 Punkten. Doch lest selbst:
 „Ein Musiklehrer trifft auf zwei seiner ehemaligen Schüler, und man gründet eine Band, die man deshalb UNIFIED nennt. So einfach ist das Leben manchmal. UNIFIED präsentieren auf ihrer ersten EP ,Welcome To The Shadowland' klassischen Heavy Metal mit einer ordentlichen Portion Epic Metal. So erinnern die eröffnenden Leads des Titeltracks spontan an While Heaven Wept, während sich Sänger Markus Hager (der Lehrer) gesanglich ein wenig an der Art, wie Atlantean Kodex-Fronter Markus Becker singt, orientiert. Auch qualitativ, was bedeuten soll, dass hier noch Luft nach oben ist. Als völlig überflüssig erweisen sich die eingestreuten Growls, die überhaupt nicht zur Musik passen, auch wenn damit der Herrscher des Schattenlands dargestellt werden soll. Der Song beginnt im Midtempo und wirkt zunächst etwas holprig, auch weil er sehr einfach strukturiert ist. Über einen flotten Mittelpart geht es in einen ruhigen Teil mit Flüstergesang und einem Dialog mit der Growl-Stimme. Hier wäre die korrigierende Hand eines Produzenten vonnöten gewesen. Besser sieht es dann beim folgenden 'Turn On Your Heart' aus, einer melodischen Midtempo-Nummer mit gutem, pathetischem Refrain. Flotter und härter stellt sich 'Tyrant' dar, allerdings vernimmt man auch hier wieder die deplatzierten Growls. Darüberhinaus ist der Song aber ganz ordentlich und hat ein prima Solo zu bieten. Eine gut gesungene Ballade mit dem schwülstigen Titel 'Land Of Feelings' macht den Abschluss. „Welcome To The Shadowland” ist ein ganz passabler Vorgeschmack auf das erste Album, das in Arbeit ist und 2012 erscheinen soll. Ansonsten gibt es aus unserem Lager eigentlich nur gutes zu berichten. Erst gestern haben wir an einem neuen Song weitergearbeitet und die anfänglichen Klänge kommen schon richtig geil. Nachdem die Demo zu diesem Stück im Kasten ist, werden wir euch auch mal wieder einen Vorgeschmack in Form einer Demo oder eines Samplers kredenzen. Ihr entscheidet.

Again a year heads for its end and we can be more than content with the achievements of 2011. With "Welcome to the Shadowland" our first official CD (a 4 track EP) entered the market, with gigantic popularity, it was more than could have been awaited. Our first release gained quite good feedbacks and the 2011 highlight was the review in Germany's greatest metal-magazine, the METAL HAMMER. Not only sold in germany, but to over sea to Australia and Brazil. Concerning that we wanna thank our friend João Andrade, who started a Unified-promo-campaign on his own in South America and achieved not only reviews, but also interviews and even brought our songs "on-air" in Brazil and Argentina. These also lead to great feedbacks. Beside the CDs our EP is available as download on iTunes and Amazon.
Like in the story of our for 2012 planed debut album "Black & White" there has not only been light in 2011, but also a small valley of shades. Our first official gig at Manhattan Club in Hof / Germany, as well as all our live plans had to be canceled by reasons of schedule problems. But that enabled us to write new material for our first album and we are already happily looking forward to serve you the new songs. To ease the wait for the album, we planed some demo-action for the upcoming spring. And that's where you enter the game: A Facebook survey on our site will enable you to vote if you wanna have a complete demo-song, or a short sampler with cuts of 2-3 of our new songs. Moreover there will be a small gimmick, which has been planned for a long time, but was also not worked out, because of the rarest of all goods, time! So await some surprises.
And last but not least we wanna thank you all for the great support and the motivating words, everyone who bought the EP, and those who will. We wish you a Merry and Metal Christmas with your families and friends, as well as a heavy new year called 2012!

There is a new review concerning our first output. "Welcome to the Shadowland" is discussed in the current release of one of the biggest german metal-magazines, the METAL HAMMER. Here you can read what Andreas Schöwe says about our EP:
"The quartet from the southern German town of Selbitz, creates an uncompromising-classic Heavy Metal and regards this four-tracker (23:11 min.) as harbinger of the official debut album, planned for the next year. The four boys are already convincing their listeners by means of fascinating filigree, NWOBHM-like guitars, a great epic hymn like 'Turn On Your Heart' and the piano-half-ballad 'Land Of Feelings'. Although there are still reserves concerning the vocalists-job: The occasionally used death-metal-shoutings, are kind of clichéd, by the motto 'That's cool nowadays!', instead of underlining the core-concept of the band (even: the split between iron maiden guitars, Manowar-like epic stuff and US-power metal à la Omen). Concerning this a competent producer will surely interfere."
Moreover there are news from the "radio-corner": Currently we are on the air at the german metal-radio Xtrem Radio. Up to date schedules concerning the time when our songs are played are gonna be revealed on our Facebook page. So just take a view and become a UNIFIED fan, if you're not yet.

After a long period of silence there is a sign of life from us. After the cancellation of our gig and the convalescence of Markus (He had problems with his right arm), we went back to songwriting. And it works out really fine. Also we got some optical (!!) changes in our line-up, but you will see that at the last on the next promo-pics.
The upcomeing Friday, the 7th October you got the opportunity to hear UNIFIED on the radio. There will be songs from the EP " Welcome to the Shadowland" every week on the brasil web radio "A Ferro e Fogo". Moreover we are talking with a german radiostation about sending out our music into the world. More about that will soon be revealed here.
Beside new songs, which really sound potential, and which will surely please you, we are working on a little gimmick for you. So stay tuned.

After there were no news for nearly two months from UNIFIED, there is something to tell by now. It's really a pity that we don't have only good news for you, unlike usually. In fact our schedule-situation has changed, so we had to stop our plans concerning live gigs. It is bad, but it affects our already confirmed concert on October 8th at Manhattan Club at the city of Hof. We had to cancel that one with heavy hearts. Sorry! We decided to concentrate on the songwriting for our upcoming debut-album first. At least it is going on well. We are very content with our material and the stuff around that e.g. like the the cover-artwork take its course. We are happy that we could manage to get Hans Schrepfer for this job, the man that designed our "Welcome to the Shadowland" artwork.
 But lets go on with the "good news" now. We got a contact in Brazil for some weeks, that was so great to opened the door that leads UNIFIED to the south american continent. It all started with some poster-action in Brazil and the export of our EP overseas. By now we got an interview for the argentinian webzine Latin Metal, which was shortly published. Last but not least our songs are going to be heared on a web-Radio from São Paulo. So we set food on the continent, that maybe mostly loves german Power Metal. Moreover we were interviewed by the german metal-magazine Powermetal4ever.
So as you can see there are good news again and we hope that the future develops as good as the past did.

Six weeks are over now since the shades of the Shadowland were born, and we are really proud of our first CD. Not only our listeners certify our CD to be well done (The selling-rate and the reactions are better than our anticipations), even the reactions of specialist publications are quite gratifying. For example we are called a "glimmer of hope in the powermetalic monotonous standard sound" (Sprengies World) and it is said that "friends of the european melodic-metal are going to have fun with this stuff" (Powermetal.de). Moreover there are "less shadows, than much more light" (Metal.de) on "Welcome to the Shadowland". But now it is not the time to lay down our arms on the reached, but to go on and that is exactly what we are doing. For some weeks we are writing on further material for our first LP.
Who wants to hear this new material before the release in 2012, is welcomed to do so, live among other things on our first official gig in Octobre 8th 2011 at the Manhattan Club in the city of Hof. Further gigs are planed.
Moreover there is a Newsletter, shortly finished. So if you want to get important news freshly served from first hand, you can subscribe to it.
